Our Team
Casey Higgins Owner
Casey started his career in 2005 in Madison, Wi. He has been steadfast in his dedication to helping both clients and agents he has worked with to provide the best solutions. He has received numerous awards for achievement in both sales and agent development. His ability to help agents grow their businesses is unmatched. Casey is an avid Wisconsin sports fan and can usually be found watching or coaching youth sports. Casey is married to his wife, Emily, and they have a son, Aaron.
Ross Nelson Owner
Ross began his insurance career in 2005 in Appleton, Wi. Over his career he has held various leadership positions and has been recognized many times for his management excellence. Ross lives in Waunakee with his wife, Heather, and three children, Brooke, Scott and Ben. They spend a lot of their time at the soccer field with all three of their children involved in soccer.
Marikate Knellwolf Director of Implementation
MariKate began her insurance career as an intern from UW-Platteville working in voluntary benefits in 2016. She has since evolved into becoming our Director of Implementation. The work she does for our team is the glue that holds everything together! She has been described by one of our clients as “Hyper-Likeable” and we couldn’t agree more. Marikate currently lives in Verona with her dog Zoe.
Trevor Martin Sales and Marketing Director – Madison, Wi
Trevor Martin started his insurance career in 2011. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in kinesiology. He has held management positions with multiple insurance companies over his career. During his time in management, he has received multiple awards for management excellence. Trevor’s expertise and experience provide great value to the RC Risk team and his clients. Trevor lives in Sun Prairie with his wife, Devin, and their 2 beautiful daughters, Hazel and Sophia
Jack Brees Sales and Marketing Director – Southeastern Wisconsin
Jack started in insurance in 2008. Prior to that he had a decorated career as a K9 police officer in West Allis. Jacks has spent much of his career in management where he has trained and developed many agents. His success with multiple insurance carriers include several management excellence awards. Jack currently lives in West Allis with his wife Ellen and their dogs, Jet and Laddie.
Rodney Curtis Sales Manager – Madison, Wi
Rodney began his career with insurance in 2012. Rodney specializes in finding the right solutions to match his clients’ needs. Over his career he has received many accolades for his sales achievements. In addition to sales, Rodney has since taken over a leadership position mentoring agents within RC Risk. Rodney currently lives in Lodi where he is the baseball coach for the Lodi Blue Devils. He and his wife Lesly have two beautiful daughters, Sadie and Charlotte.
Eli Fouts Business Development Specialist
Eli came to RC Risk in the summer of 2022 as an intern from the University of Wisconsin where he studied finance and was on a scholarship for swimming. Upon graduation, he started his journey as a Business Development Representative. Eli’s energy and tenacity make him a great piece to the RC puzzle. When asked about what he loves about being an insurance agent his answer was simple “I love helping people and businesses have better solutions”.
Jason Stammer Business Development Specialist
Jason has experience in helping protect businesses and employees of Omaha since 2018. Throughout his career he has focused on providing the best customer service he can to each of his clients. He prides himself on how well he has retained his customers over the years. Jason currently lives in Tekamah with his son Graycen.
Todd Burrer Business Development Specialist
Todd has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry working with numerous carriers to develop innovative solutions for adding voluntary benefits. His expertise lies in understanding client needs and tailoring insurance offerings that enhance employee satisfaction and organizational value. Throughout his career he has built strong relationships across the industry, continually striving to provide optimal benefits packages. Todd currently lives in Omaha with his wife Lea.
Marc Timmins Business Development Specialist
Marc has over 10 years of insurance experience serving the Omaha community. Marc believes that putting his clients first and maintaining a high level of professionalism on their behalf is what makes clients eager to refer him to their family and friends. Marc has helped countless clients find policies that fit their lifestyle and give them peace of mind. Marc has been married for 25 years to his wife, Lisa, and has two children, Brayden and Morgan. In Marc's free time you can find him attending his kids' sporting events.
